Why is this important?
Senior executives and other key personnel may encounter personal crises of one sort or another just like everyone else and these may include:
- loss of job, partner or relationship
- relationship or work difficulties
- depression, feelings of boredom or inertia in life
- past or present trauma (e.g. accident, assault, medical condition)
- past physical, emotional or sexual abuse
- abuse of alcohol or drugs
- obsessive behaviour patterns (e.g. gambling, over-spending)
- eating disorders
- low self esteem, lack of confidence or assertiveness
- panic attacks or phobias
- stress and thoughts of being overwhelmed
- limiting self beliefs undermining performance
Failing to support your key employees at times of personal crisis can have a negative impact on your business. Employees will inevitably not perform to their potential and may be off sick for long periods. Their colleagues and the teams they work with will also be adversely affected by the loss of leadership and negative energy of the individual. You may end up losing the employee or facing a legal action for 'non duty of care' if you do not take appropriate action to address a crisis situation and support the employee. Inevitably, not taking action will cost you more than investing in a carefully structured, outcome focused solution.
How O" can help you
O" have a range of short term solution focused interventions which can support your key personnel at times of trauma or crisis. These services are delivered by fully qualified, experienced counsellors and psychotherapists who understand the dynamics and culture of business and the need to help the employee return to work and full functioning as quickly as possible.
Our therapists are qualified in a range of therapeutic techniques including Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), Transactional Analysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnosis, EMDR and performance coaching.
The benefits to you
Early intervention to support your key personnel at times of professional or personal crisis will help reduce the time they are off sick or not performing to their potential. It will minimise disruption in the workplace and the potential 'knock-on' effect of underperformance. It will also meet your legal obligation to provide a duty of care and demonstrate how much you value your workforce.
Do you have effective plans for dealing with your employeesę personal or professional crises?
Do you have an effective employee assistance programme in place?

Elevating individual performance - Supremacy or just survival? Businesses constantly adapt to ever-changing markets, the threat of declining revenues, shorter product life cycles and the need for performance improvement efficiencies. Traditionally, business performance coaching has not been viewed as a bottom-line business driver. Today, business leaders are increasingly realising that improving the performance of their 'human capital' is a critical factor in growing their business and maintaining competitive advantage.
